Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get my custom itinerary?
We typically respond within 24 hours with a preliminary itinerary. After your feedback, we'll finalize everything within a week.
What's included in the tour price?
Our tours typically include accommodation, transportation, guided activities, some meals, and 24/7 support. International/domestic flights and personal expenses are usually separate.
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes! We offer attractive discounts for groups of 6 or more travelers. Contact us for special group rates and customized experiences.
What languages do your guides speak?
We provide English-speaking guides as standard. For Italian, French, and Spanish, we can arrange dedicated guides with prior notice and a surcharge. For Italian, a daily group departure (maximum 10 participants) is available year-round.
Is travel insurance included?
Travel insurance is not included in the tour price. We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance before departure.
How much deposit is required to confirm my booking?
A deposit of 30% of the total package price is required at the time of booking to secure your services. Some hotels or resorts may require higher or earlier payments (e.g., full prepayment or seasonal deposits). In such cases, we will inform you in advance.
When do I need to pay the balance?
The final balance is due no later than 60 days before your arrival. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, full payment is required immediately.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments can be made by bank transfer in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) or in another agreed currency stated on your invoice. We recommend using WISE or REVOLUT for fast and secure international transfers. Please note that all bank charges and transaction fees are the responsibility of the client/agency.
What happens if I miss a payment deadline?
If payment is delayed and we do not receive feedback after reminders, AXYS TRAVELS reserves the right to cancel all services without notice. In such cases, our standard cancellation policy applies, and the deposit (or any supplier-required prepayment) will be forfeited.
Do I need to send proof of payment?
Yes, a copy of your transfer slip or confirmation must be emailed to AXYS TRAVELS. Bookings are only considered fully confirmed once funds have cleared in our account.
Can I make changes after I’ve paid?
Changes requested after a deposit or final balance has been paid may incur additional charges and are subject to availability and supplier conditions.
How do I cancel my booking?
All cancellations must be sent in writing by email and acknowledged by AXYS TRAVELS. The effective cancellation date is the day we receive your written notice.
What cancellation fees apply?
More than 60 days before arrival: deposit (minimum 30%) is forfeited.
59 to 46 days before arrival: 50% of the total package.
45 days or less before arrival / No-show: 100% of the total package.
Do hotels and resorts have stricter rules?
Yes. Some suppliers may have non-refundable bookings or stricter peak season conditions. In such cases, the supplier’s policy will apply, and we will inform you at the time of booking.
When will I receive my refund?
If applicable, refunds will be processed within 30 working days after your cancellation request, once suppliers confirm the amounts. Please note: all bank charges and transaction fees are the responsibility of the client/agency.
What if my trip is cancelled due to unforeseen events?
In cases of force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, epidemics, airline changes), AXYS TRAVELS cannot be held liable. We will always do our best to obtain the maximum possible refund from suppliers, but we cannot guarantee outcomes.
Do I need a visa to travel to Malaysia or Singapore?
Most European and Australian passport holders can enter Malaysia visa-free for up to 90 days, and Singapore for 30–90 days (depending on nationality). Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond entry. A return or onward ticket may be required. Always check with the respective Embassy before travel.
Are vaccinations required?
No compulsory vaccinations are needed for Malaysia or Singapore. Recommended ones include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Malaria risk is very low in Malaysia’s main tourist areas, though prophylaxis may be considered for remote jungle travel. Both countries have good healthcare facilities, and we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
When is the best time to visit?
Peninsular Malaysia (West Coast – Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi): suitable for tours year-round; for beach stays the best period is Nov–Apr.
Peninsular Malaysia (East Coast – Perhentian, Redang, Tioman): best period Mar–Oct; some resorts close Nov–Feb.
Borneo (Sabah & Sarawak): visitable year-round, but wetter Nov–Jan.
Singapore: year-round destination (26–33°C); rain showers are frequent but short. Slightly drier Feb–Oct.
What currency should I use?
Malaysia: Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
Singapore: Singapore Dollar (SGD)
ATMs are widely available in both countries. Credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, and malls, but cash is preferred in local markets or rural areas.
What languages are spoken?
Malaysia: The official language is Bahasa Malaysia; English is widely spoken in cities and tourist areas. Chinese dialects and Tamil are also common.
Singapore: The official languages are English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil. English is the main working language and is used in signage and transport.
What plug do I need?
Both Malaysia and Singapore use 230V, 50Hz electricity with British-style three-pin plugs (Type G). An adapter is recommended.
Is it safe to travel to Malaysia and Singapore?
Yes. Both countries are considered safe, with Singapore ranking among the safest worldwide. Normal travel precautions against petty theft are advised in Malaysia.
Are there strict laws I should know about?
Malaysia: Respect cultural norms and dress modestly at religious sites.
Singapore: Very strict laws apply. E-cigarettes are banned, chewing gum import/sale is restricted, tobacco has almost no duty-free allowance, and drugs carry the death penalty. Fines are issued for littering, jaywalking, smoking outside designated areas, or eating/drinking in the MRT.
Can I drink tap water?
Malaysia: Tap water is not recommended; bottled/filtered water is inexpensive and widely available.
Singapore: Tap water is safe to drink; bottled water is also widely available.
