SEMENGGOH ORANGUTAN

Service Description

The Semenggoh Wildlife Center is located 22 km from Kuching and is the only one of its kind in Sarawak. Built in 1975, it covers 653 hectares of virgin forest, home to orangutans and other wildlife. It takes around 30 minutes by car from the city to reach the centre, or alternatively a 1.6 km walk (about 20 minutes). This tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe how orangutans are rehabilitated and taught to feed themselves before being released back into the wild. Visitors can observe these animals from a safe distance. NOTE: Feeding times are at 09:00/09:30 and 15:00/15:30.
