SARAWAK RIVER CRUISE

A cruise through nature, history, and city life

1 h
50 euros
Kuching

Service Description

The history of modern Sarawak begins when the adventurer James Brooke sailed along the Sarawak River in 1839. Retrace this historic route with a boat ride along the same riverbank, which still retains its original charm. The tour offers panoramic views of the growing city of Kuching, where old buildings stand alongside much more modern ones, giving the city a unique character. Despite rapid economic development over the years, the riverfront has preserved its historic allure. The river cruise passes by the Waterfront Esplanade, Fort Margherita, the Astana Palace and the Government Complex, the mosque, traditional Malay stilt houses, and a Chinese fishing village.
